Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Munger has been established in April, 1979 according to sanction order 22(6)79 Edn. 11 dated 23.04.1979. It is the oldest KVK of RAU Pusain later of BAU Sabour Bhagalpur. It has been working with strength of six extensionists of different disciplines and associates. Main work of KVK is to disseminate the innovative technologies of agriculture and allied through on station or farm testing, front Line demonstrations, Training, gosthi, electronics media, direct interaction or with other means. Six extensionists and other incumbents KVK have been doing works on seed production, integrated farming, preparation of planting material, value addition, development of entrepreneurship, empowerment of women through skill development. Water management, live stock & cattle farming, Redgram, Wheat, Maize, Lentil, Gram, Rai, Vegetable & fruit cultivation.

Soil testing, mushroom, honey & vermi compost production, Promotion of scientific water management, sprinkler irrigation, drip irrigation, improved Agril. Implements like land lesser leveler, seed cum fertilizer drill, rotavator, weeders, irrigation equipment’s, harvesting, cleaning and grading implements, package and practices of crops and horticultural crops etc. KVK, Munger has also helped with technologies to NGOs, ATMA & different line departments of district. KVK, Munger has acts as linkage between agricultural researches of university. ICAR & other research institutions and end users farmers, entrepreneurs, Agril. Officers and others.It is an apex body of agriculture & allied technical institution in district level. It has developed several demonstration unit in kvk campus, which have been visited by large numbers of visitors.
