Specialty of KVK

SEED PRODUCTION : Seed production of Pulse and oilseed has been done for five years under CFLD, Seed hub and other participatory mode. About 300 to 500 quintal is being produced in every year and is being sold among farmers and other institution. The seed of pigeonpea, Lentil, chickpea, fieldpea and horsegram has been produced under CFLD & Seed hub programme. Seed of Mustard and linseed has been produced under CFLD oilseed production.

Watershed Management : About 40 % of cultivable land belongs to hilly and hilly plain area in Munger district. State government , NGO and KVK, Munger have done lot of work related to watershed management. Watershed management programmes have been conducting in Sadar, Munger, Jamalpur, Dharhara, Haveli Khadagpur, Tetiabamber and Sangrampur block. Watershed has been managed with construction of bench, terrace, water adoption tank, farm pond, gulley plug, diversion bund , check dam and other hydrologic structures for soil and water conservation. Afforestation has done on bund for reducing soil erosion.
